Cutting Board Tips

All KitchenAid Cutting Boards come with a limited lifetime warranty that states as long as the product is used according to the use and care, KitchenAid guarantees the product will be free from defects, for the life of the product.

Slipping

  • If your wood board is slipping, wet a washcloth, wring it out and place under the board to prevent slipping.
  • Polyboards have a no-slip grip so this should not be an issue.

Warping / Cracks - Wood

  • If repeatedly cleaned in the dishwasher, or if soaked too long in the sink, the wood can separate. Make sure to follow the Use & Care Guidelines.
  • Polyboards have been purposely made with heavier gauge  than most polyboards to prevent warping.

Cutting board loses its shine

  • Do not soak your wood cutting board in water.
  • Before your first use of the wood board, lightly coat it with mineral oil to prevent your wood from losing its shine.
    • Mineral oil is food safe.
      •  It is suggested to coat with mineral oil about 3 times a year.  

NOTE:  Do not use any type of cooking oils on your board as this will cause the board to become rancid.

 Wood board has an odor

  • If your cutting board should develop an odor, rub the wood board with lemon.
  •  After the use of the lemon, rub the board with mineral oil to restore its shine.
