White coating on beater chipping

Possible Solutions

Edit section

Flat Beater.jpg

Some flat beaters and dough hooks have a white coating that allows them to be washed in the dishwasher.

  • Underneath the white coating is a burnished aluminum beater.
  • The flat beater can become chipped for several reasons.

Side of Beater Chipping

  • Hitting the flat beater on the side of the bowl to release ingredients can weaken the coating on the side of the beater, causing it to chip.
    • It is important to use a spatula to remove ingredients from the flat beater.

Bottom of flat beater chipping

Edit section

If the bottom of your flat beater is chipping, it's possible that your beater is too high and it is hitting the bottom of the bowl and needs to be raised.

Your mixer is adjusted for optimum mixing at the factory, but through time and use it can change, and it should be readjusted.
