Fan Noise - Convection - Range
Possible Solutions
If the fan noise stops when the door is opened, you hear the convection fan operating. If it does not stop, you hear the cooling fan.
When is the Fan Running?
It is normal operation for the convection fan:
- It is to operate during preheating for both non-convection and convection functions.
- Turns off when the oven door is opened.
On electric convection models, the convection fan will come on immediately during preheat or when a convection cycle is selected.
Cooling Fan - What's Normal?
- The automatic cooling fan should run when the oven is in use and/or after the cycle completes.
- To hear the automatic cooling fan move air when the oven is in use and/or the cycle completes.
- The cooling fan can run for extended periods depending on the internal and external temperatures.
What it's doing?
- It helps to cool the enclosed oven cavity and the electronic controls when the oven is in use and/or after the cycle completes.
- Keeps the electronic controls cool during oven functions such as BAKE, BROIL, or CLEAN.
- It may run for extended periods depending on the internal and external temperature.
