Oven Not Working - Light Doesn't Turn Off

Possible Solution

Is the door shut?

Some models will not operate if the oven door is open. Once the door is closed the heating element(s) and fan(s) will turn back on, while the oven cavity light will turn off.

Ensure the door latch is not blocked.  Below are some common items that may prevent the appliance from closing or opening:

  • Packing and/or shipping material
  • Dish or bakeware.  Ensure the dish is the correct size, and an oversized plate will prevent the door from closing.
  • Check that the cooking rack (if equipped) is not out of position and that the door is not allowing it to close.
  • Food or soil build-up.  Clean the around around the door, as needed.

Was the door recently removed

If the door was removed, ensure the hinges were reset before re-installing the door.
