How to use the KitchenAid Burr Grinder Scale Jar

Operating the Burr Grinder Scale Jar

IMPORTANT: Before using the Burr Grinder Scale Jar, wash the inside of the jar by hand with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. To avoid damage, do not wash in the dishwasher and do not immerse in water. 

  1. Press the POWER button to turn on the Burr Grinder Scale Jar. The LCD display will read 888g, and then will update to Og when ready to use. 

  1. Pour the desired amount of whole coffee beans to grind into the Burr Grinder Scale Jar. Allow a few seconds for the scale to stabilize before reading the final measured value. 

  1. Pour coffee beans into the Burr Grinder hopper and place the Burr Grinder Scale Jar under the Burr Grinder. Turn on the Burr Grinder and grind coffee through. 

  1. When done grinding, press the POWER button to verify that the desired amount of coffee has been ground through. 

Care and Cleaning

Replacing the Batteries

The Burr Grinder Scale Jar is powered by 2 AAA batteries (included). To replace the batteries, use a Phillips-head screwdriver to access the battery compartment on the bottom of your Burr Grinder Scale Jar. 

  1. Flip the Burr Grinder Scale Jar over, and use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screw on the compartment cover. Lift the compartment cover as shown. 

  1. Replace the 2 AAA batteries in the 1 battery compartment. Make sure to ' use the screw when reattaching the battery compartment cover. 

Cleaning the Burr Grinder Scale Jar 

IMPORTANT: It is important to clean the Burr Grinder Scale Jar after each use. The taste of your coffee can be impacted if it is not thoroughly cleaned of all grounds and coffee oil residue after each use.  To avoid damage, do not wash the Burr Grinder Scale Jar in the dishwasher and do not immerse in water. 

Wash the inside of the jar by hand with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
