Cold Brew FAQ's

KitchenAid Cold Brew Coffee Maker FAQs

What is Cold Brew Coffee and How is it Different from Iced Coffee?

Cold brew coffee is coarsely ground coffee steeped in cold water for 12-24 hours. Unlike iced coffee which is hot coffee poured over ice, there is no heat applied during the cold brew method. Cold-brewed coffee produces a smooth, balanced flavor that's less acidic and less bitter than regular coffee.

How Many Servings of Coffee can be Made?

Each brew makes up to 28 ounces* of coffee concentrate. We recommend a 1 to 3 coffee-to-water ratio. So, to make one 8-ounce serving, take 2 ounces of cold brew concentrate and simply add 6 ounces of water or milk.

*Servings may vary based on coffee or tea type.

Can Cold Brew Coffee or Tea be Heated if I Prefer it Hot?

Yes. Combine cold brew concentrate with hot water using the recipe above. Adjust the amount of concentrate for the desired taste.

Can I Make Different Types of Beverages With the Cold Brew Coffee Maker?

Yes. The reusable stainless steel steeper allows you to cold brew coffee or tea.

What Grind Setting Do I Use When Making Cold Brew Coffee?

Use coarsely ground coffee. If using the KitchenAid® Burr Grinder, use settings 1-3.
