Which grinder setting should I use?

Start with a medium setting; it depends on your personal preference and the type of beans you use. The coffee grind size determines the speed at which extraction happens, which in turn affects the taste, aroma, texture, and the end result. If the coffee shot pulls too quickly, the pressure is under the desired pressure range, and the coffee is watery and acidic, use a slightly finer setting.

How can I adjust the grinding setting?

You can adjust the fineness of the grinding size using the lever under the grinder knob, adjusting from left (coarse) to right (fine). For additional grind size personalization, the Top Burr can be adjusted to reach eight additional finer grind sizes. To do so:

1. Remove and empty the bean hopper.

2. Replace the bean hopper and empty the grinder of remaining coffee beans, pressing the grinder knob button.

3. Remove the bean hopper again and remove the top burr, lifting the lever and rotating it in a counter clock movement.

4. Lift the Top Burr micro adjustment latch. Then, rotate the Top Burr to desired setting and engage adjustment latch back into position.

5. Replaced the top burr and the bean hopper, locking them in position

Can I use flavored beans in the grinders?

Coffee beans that have been treated with additives (e.g., sugar), ground coffee, or freeze-dried coffee will damage the burr grinders. Only use roasted, untreated coffee beans to fill the bean container.
