Water is Boiling Over During Use - KitchenAid Grain and Rice Cooker

The Compact Grain and Rice Cooker senses water based on the weight. If it reads too much weight, the product may boil over. The following are a few things that could cause this to happen:

• It is not level.  If the product is not placed on a hard, flat surface with all 4 feet in contact, the sensor may not properly register. 
• Extra water was added. 
• All rice, especially brown rice, should be rinsed and drained for the best results and to minimize boilover.
• Barley and farro should be rinsed and/or soaked and drained for the best results and to minimize boilover.
• All beans should be rinsed and/or soaked and drained for the best results and to minimize boilover.
