Boiling Over - Grain and Rice Cooker

Water is boiling over during use - KitchenAid Grain and Rice Cooker

The Grain and Rice Cooker senses and dispenses water based on the weight. If it reads too much weight, the product may boil over. The following are a few things that could cause this to happen:

  • It is not level.  If the product is not placed on a hard, flat surface with all 4 feet in contact with the surface, it could cause the sensor not to properly register.
  • Extra weight was added.  It is important not to place anything on the grain and rice cooker during operation.  An item, such as a spoon, will register as extra weight, causing more water to be dispensed.
  • The pot was pressed down during the sensing phase. Do not press the lid or the container while the grain or rice is being weighed.
