Not Weighing Ingredients
KitchenAid Grain and Rice Cooker Not Weighing Food
Is the cooker level and unobstructed?
The scale sensor senses the weight of the pot along with the weight of the entire product, so if the scale is not working correctly, check the following:
- The cooker should be located on an even and level surface.
- Ensure nothing is leaning or laying on the Cooker.
- Check the leveling feet and ensure all four feet are touching the surface and there is no wobbling of the cooker.
The Grain and Rice Cooker should be on an even and level surface.
Was food added too soon?
If the rice or grains were added before prompted, on the display, remove the pot for 3 seconds while the scale calibrates.
Adding food without selecting the cook mode first will limit the unit of measurement to ounces or grams only. Cups is not available with this method. For best results, level the food inside the pot for even cooking.
Was too little or too much food added?
- If too little food is added, the letters will flash red, and the message “Please add more food to the pot” will appear.
- If too much food is added, the letters will flash red, and the message "Please remove food from the pot" will appear.
- Once completed, more food has been added or removed, and the scale screen will appear.
Reset the Appliance
- Remove the rice/grain from the cooker pot
- Replace the pot
- Turn off power to the cooker for one minute
- Power cooker back on, select cooking mode, add rice/grain.
