Aluminized Bakeware Use and Care
Use and Care of KitchenAid Aluminized Bakeware
Aluminized bakeware is lightweight, durable, and evenly distributes heat for great results. It is important to properly use, clean, and store your products to ensure your bakeware lasts.
Before First Use
Before using, wash bakeware with hot, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. It is not necessary to season aluminized bakeware before use.
Using Aluminized Bakeware
KitchenAid aluminized bakeware is oven safe up to 450°F (232°C), but is not safe for use in the microwave. Although our products are durable, the following is recommended to avoid damaging your bakeware or kitchen surfaces.
- Do not place hot bakeware directly on countertops or tables. Instead, use a trivet to avoid damaging surfaces.
- Do not use metal utensils with your aluminized bakeware, as these may scratch the surface. Use wood, nylon, silicone, plastic, or bamboo utensils instead.
Greasing Aluminized Bakeware
When baking dough, we recommend you grease the pan by brushing a thin layer of butter on the interior surface— there is no need to dust the surface with flour. When roasting, we recommend using butter or oil to grease your pan, but not extra virgin olive oil due to its low smoke point. Do not use any oil spray.
Aluminized Bakeware Care and Cleaning
Although KitchenAid aluminized bakeware is dishwasher safe, it is encouraged to hand wash products in warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry with a soft towel. For best results while washing, we recommend the following:
- Allow your aluminized bakeware to cool naturally and completely before cleaning and storing. Do not hold hot bakeware under cold water, as this can cause warping or cracking.
- Use a mild detergent and a sponge or soft dishcloth to hand wash aluminized bakeware; do not use oven cleaners, harsh detergents, chlorine bleach, steel wool, or nylon scrubbing pads.
- To remove baked-on residue from pans, soak products in hot, soapy water for 15 to 20 minutes or for as long as necessary before placing them in the dishwasher.
Storing Aluminized Bakeware
Aluminized bakeware should always be thoroughly washed and dried before being stored in a clean, well-ventilated location. Do not store them along with metal implements, as these can scratch the surface of your bakeware. These pans are designed to nest for easy storage, but consider separating pans with paper towels when stacked for extra cushion.
