Rotor Slicer/Shredder Tips

Tips on Processing Different Food Types with the KitchenAid Shredder/Slicer

Cutting/peeling fruits and vegetables

Food needs to be cut to the proper height before processing. If pieces are too tall, the food pushers will not fit down over them to push them into the cutting cones. For best results, fruits and vegetables with thick skins, such as apples and cucumbers, should be peeled first.

Shredding Cheese

Cheese Type Temperature Notes

Soft Cheese (Mozzarella)

Should be very cold before slicing or shredding Place soft cheese in the freezer for 10 - 15 minutes before processing.
Hard Cheese (Cheddar) Should be at room temperature for 10 – 15 minutes before processing Romano and Parmesan should not be processed with the RVSA.
