How to Use the KitchenAid Pastry Beater

What kinds of recipes can I make with the KitchenAid Pastry Beater?

The Pastry Beater is designed to be a substitute for a handheld pastry cutter (or pastry blender). It uses the power of the mixer to cut butter into flour to make light and flaky pastries. The Pastry Beater is great for making pie dough and other pastries like biscuits, scones, tarts, and empanadas.

The Pastry Beater also works well for mashing fruits, like applesauce, chunky jams, banana bread, and even batch-muddled mojitos. It can also mash vegetables, like mashed potatoes and mashed cauliflower. You can use it to shred meats, like chicken for tacos or chicken salad, and pulled pork. You can use it for dips like guacamole, and it makes great potato salad and egg salad. You can even mash beans for black bean burgers or mashed pinto beans.
