Water Hardness - Dishwasher

Possible Solution

Determine your water hardness by obtaining information from a water quality report from your water supplier or purchase a water hardness test kit at a hardware store. The water softening system is turned off from the factory (hardness setting “0”). To turn on your water softener, you must set the water hardness level in the “SETTING MENU” using the hardness setting value from the following.  Once the system is turned on, the salt reservoir must be filled with special dishwasher softener salt and water.

NOTE: Settings and features will vary by model number, reference the Owner's Manual for specific information for your model.

Changing the Water Hardness

  1. Press and hold the “Hi Temp” button for 5 seconds.
  2. Release “Hi Temp” and press the “Start/Resume” button within 2 seconds. If you do not press Start within 2 seconds, then the display will turn off, and you will need to start over and go back to step 1.
  3. Press the “Start/Resume” button to select the "h" and enter the sub-menu. The display will change to show the current setting, which is "0" from the factory.
  4. Press the “Normal” button to change the setting's value.
  5. Press the “Start/Resume” button to confirm the new selection. The feature setting will not be changed until the “Start/Resume” button is pressed.
