Silica Film or Etching - Dishwasher

Possible Solutions

Is there a white film or residue on your dishes that does not come off?

If the film did not come off, this may be an etching of the glassware.
Film is due to either etching or silica film. Silica film is a milky, rainbow-colored deposit and etching is a cloudy film. Sometimes there is a water/chemical reaction with certain types of glassware.

Is your water hard or is there a high mineral content in your water?

Use liquid rinse aid. This will help to eliminate spotting and filming. Keep the rinse aid dispenser filled.
