Silicone Gadgets Use and Care
KitchenAid Silicone Gadgets Use and Care
Silicone tools and gadgets are durable, easy to clean, and safe to use on nonstick pans. Ensure your tools last by properly using, cleaning, and storing them.
Before First Use
Before using, wash tools with warm water and mild detergent, then dry them immediately and thoroughly.
Using Silicone Products
While silicone products are heat resistant to 450°F (232°C), it is still important to be cautious while cooking at high temperatures to avoid warping or melting.
- Do not leave silicone utensils in a hot pan while cooking.
- Keep silicone utensils away from stovetop flame or element.
Silicone Tools Care and Cleaning
KitchenAid® silicone utensils are dishwasher-safe for easy cleanup. When handwashing these products, clean them with warm water and a mild detergent, rinse, and towel dry. Do not use steel wool, copper sponges, or coarse-bristle cleaning brushes, as these may scratch the silicone.
NOTE: Wood-handled silicone tools are not dishwasher safe, as cleaning in the dishwasher can damage the natural wood.
Storing Silicone Tools
KitchenAid® utensils should be stored in a clean, well-ventilated location. Our tools are also designed to stack for easy storage in a drawer.
