Not Starting or Operating - Trash Compactor

Possible Solutions

Is the power supply cord unplugged?

Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet. It is possible the compactor power cord is plugged into an outlet controlled by a wall switch.  This can occur when the wall switch was meant for a garbage disposal outlet.

Has a household fuse blown or has a circuit breaker tripped?

Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. If the problem continues call an electrician.

Is the drawer completely closed and the drawer latch locked?

Open the drawer and ensure the latch is in the locked position by pressing down on the latch (pictured below). Close the drawer and run another cycle to verify the problem was the latch.

Is the key-knob turned to ON and have you pressed the Foot-Actuated Start button?

Turn the key-knob to ON and press the foot-actuated start button in with your toe to start the compacting cycle.
