Installing the Bins and Shelves
KitchenAid Refrigerator Shelves and Bin Installation
Set up your KitchenAid refrigerator for optimal storage by installing the bins and shelves correctly. Proper placement protects food, supports airflow, and simplifies cleaning. This guide outlines common components, how to attach shelves or bins, tips for mounting shelves securely, and ways to keep everything working smoothly.
The bins or shelves may not open or close properly if they have not been installed correctly. Refer to your Owner's Manual for specific installation instructions for your model, along with any safety recommendations.
Get to know your KitchenAid Refrigerator
Many KitchenAid models include a mix of full-width and half-width shelves, crisper bins with humidity controls, door bins (gallon and standard), deli or snack drawers, freezer shelves or baskets, and, on some models, specialty holders such as can caddies or wine racks. Some pieces are fixed while others adjust or slide out. Designs vary by configuration (French door, side-by-side, top-freezer, bottom-freezer). Understanding how to attach shelves and bins will help when mounting shelves at the right height for your storage needs.

- Replace the shelf/frame by guiding the rear shelf hooks into the shelf supports.
- Tilt the front of the shelf up until the rear shelf hooks drop into the shelf supports.
