Possible Solutions
Is the correct cookware being used?
- Pan/pot is not the right size.
- Pan/Pot is empty or dry.
Pan/pot size, material and positioning are very important to achieve maximum wattage. Ideal cookware should have a smooth flat bottom, straight sides and a well-fitting lid, and the material should be of medium-to-heavy thickness.
Choose the correct pan/pot size for each surface cooking area. The diameter of the pan/pot's base should be equal to the size of the surface cooking area.
- If using a pan/pot smaller than the surface cooking area, the pan/pot should not be less than 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) smaller than the surface cooking area.
- If using a pan/pot larger than the surface cooking area, the pan/pot should not extend more than 1/2 inch (1.3) cm outside the surface cooking area.
Do not cook with a Pan/Pot that is empty or has boiled dry.
Turn off oven if it is operating.
- The surface cooking area has overheated and the automatic shutoff was activated.
- Wait 5 minutes, for it to cool down, then turn the cooktop back on.
- Verify cooktop operation.
Reset power to the product:
- Power unit down by turning off the circuit breaker(s) for one (1) minute.
- Power unit up by turning on the circuit breaker(s).
- Monitor the cooktop for one (1) minute to ensure the error code does not display again.
- Verify cooktop operation.
