Removing and Replacing the Oven Light
How to Remove the Light on KitchenAid Ovens
Refer to your Owner's Manual for specific information, especially concerning the wattage of halogen bulbs.
How to remove and replace standard appliance bulbs (certain models):
- The oven light is a standard 40-watt appliance bulb.
- Before replacing, ensure the oven (and cooktop, if so equipped) is cool, and all controls are in the "Off" position.
To Replace:
- Disconnect power from the unit by turning off the circuit breaker(s) or removing the fuse(s).
- Turn the glass bulb cover in the back of the oven counterclockwise to remove it.
- Turn the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the socket.
- Replace the bulb by turning it clockwise.
- Replace the bulb cover by turning it clockwise.
- Reconnect power to the unit by turning on the circuit breaker(s) or installing the fuse(s).
How to remove and replace Halogen Bulb (certain models):
- Refer to your Owner's Manual for specific information regarding the wattage of your halogen bulbs.
- Before replacing, ensure the oven (and cooktop, if so equipped) is cool and that all controls are in the "Off" position.
To Replace:
- Disconnect power to the unit by turning off the circuit breaker(s) or removing fuse(s).
- Remove the glass light cover by grasping the front edge and pulling away from the oven.
- Remove the bulb from the socket.
- Replace the bulb using tissue or wearing cotton gloves to handle the bulb. NOTE: To avoid damage or decreasing the life of the new bulb, do not touch the bulb with bare fingers.
- Replace the bulb cover by snapping it back into the wall.
- Reconnect power to the unit by turning on the circuit breaker(s) or installing the fuse(s).
