Q. Are there microwave-safe parts?
A: No, there are no microwave-safe parts
Q. What is unique about KitchenAid’s blade?
A:The KitchenAid blenders’ blade is an asymmetric stainless steel blade. It blends at four different angles to pull ingredients into the blending vortex for smooth, consistent results.
Q. Why is the shape of the Blender Jar important?
A: The shape of a blender jar is crucial for achieving smooth, consistent blends. It helps to create the vortex action essential for efficient blending, as it ensures that all ingredients are continuously circulated and processed.
KitchenAid Blenders offers a square jar which is designed to create turbulence and help to break up tougher items. The design encourages the formation of a vortex, a swirling motion that pulls ingredients down toward the blades.
While a vortex is essential for pulling ingredients down, it can sometimes become too smooth, creating a "spinning" effect where ingredients rotate around the blades without being properly processed. The Inner ribs of the jar disrupt this smooth vortex, creating turbulence and forcing ingredients to collide with the blades.
Q: Can the blade be removed for cleaning?
A: No, the blade is affixed to the jar. The entire jar is top rack dishwasher safe or can be easily cleaned by adding a little soap and water and running the cleaning cycle.
Q. If I blend recipes that contain a lot of oil, such as dressings or pesto, will it leave a residue?
A: Blending oil can leave a residue in the blender. It is best to clean the blender as quickly as possible, with warm, soapy water.
