Water Light is Blinking - Espresso

Possible Solution

Was the Espresso Maker just unboxed or stored for a long time?

If you can hear the pump working, but the water light is blinking, the pump may need to be primed.

To prime the water pump:

  1. Unplug the Espresso Maker.
  2. Remove the water tank from the base.
  3. Add a few drops of water to the water intake area.
  4. Plug in the Espresso Maker and reinsert the water tank.
  5. This process may need to be repeated up to 5 times for the water pump to prime.

Is there water in the tank?

Ensure water is in the Water Tank and ensure Water Tank is properly assembled.

Is the steam wand blocked?

Check to make sure the Steam Wand is not blocked. Please remove it from Espresso Machine and thoroughly clean it.

Is there too much coffee in the filter?

If the coffee puck is too dense or packed too tightly, it can cause the water light to blink.  Adjust to a larger grind size or remove some of the grounds. If using a Double-wall basket, clean the exit hole with a pin.
