What is different about the new KSMVSA compared to the old RVSA?

The KSMVSA now has an easy method for installing and ejecting the quick-change blades. It has a new, improved design for the food pusher, and the overall design has been updated to reflect the aesthetics of the stand mixer.  Finally, it comes with a storage case to keep all parts stored together. 

What are the different blades for?

  • Slicing Blade: quickly slices vegetables such as cucumbers, carrots, celery and zucchini
  • Medium Shredding Blade: is perfect for freshly shredding cheese and firmer vegetables such as carrots. 
  • Coarse Shredding Blade: is ideal for shredding ingredients like cabbage for coleslaw or potatoes for hashbrowns.

How do I use a 2-in-1 food pusher?

For best results, especially with slicing, narrow items such as carrots and celery should go through the center hole with the small pusher.  For wider items, it is best to use the larger pusher. 

Does the Fresh Prep Slicer/Shredder Attachment have multiple slicing thickness options?

No, there is only one slicing blade, which is ideal for many uses, such as cucumber slices for salads.  Our Food Processor Attachment features the ExactSlice system for externally-adjustable slicing without the need to change the blade (KSM1FPA or KSM2FPA, sold separately). 

How east is the attachment to clean?

The blades and food pusher are dishwasher safe for easy cleanup, and the main body can be hand washed.
