Leaking from the Ice Maker - Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

Possible Solutions

Was the water system flushed after filter installation or replacement?

Flushing the system is needed every time the filter is changed or once the refrigerator is installed on the water supply line for the first time.  The air in the water system may cause dripping at the dispenser or small/hollow ice cubes.

Is the water filter installed correctly?

If the water filter is incorrectly installed, it can reduce the water flow to the ice maker, which will cause small ice cubes or low ice production.

Is there a loose water connection?

Check for water at the bottom of the refrigerator compartment, hinge area, or by household connection in the back of the product.  A loose water connection could cause the water dispenser to drip occasionally or continuously.

Is the water filter damaged?

  • Remove the filter and inspect it for cracks or damage.
  • Be sure the O-rings are still in place.
  • If the filter is cracked or damaged, replace the filter with a new one.
