Using the Herb Storage Bin
How to use the Herb Storage Box in Your KitchenAid Refrigerator
The Herb Storage Box keeps herbs like rosemary, oregano, and thyme fresh in a dedicated storage compartment. An angled floor keeps the stems wet without covering the leaves, so your herbs bring all their flavor to your recipes. This feature is only available on some models.
Prepare and load herbs
- Rinse herbs gently under cool water to remove dirt and any wilted leaves.
- Shake off excess water and pat dry with paper towels; leaves should be damp, not wet.
- Trim about 1/4 inch from the ends of stems on bunches such as parsley, cilantro, and mint.
- Place stems down in the herb bin. If your model includes a water reservoir, add a small amount of water.
- Arrange herbs loosely to allow airflow; avoid packing tightly.
- Close the bin fully and place it in a consistently cool area, such as the crisper or a designated shelf.
